Xiaomi Mi Band, Mi TVs, Mi Water Purifier to launch in India today

  • The Mi Band 4 was previously launched in China in June at 169 Yuan (about ₹1,700) for the variant without NFC, while the one with it was priced at 229 Yuan (about ₹2,300)

Xiaomi will refresh its ‘smarter living’ lineup at an event today in Bengaluru. The Chinese electronics maker is expected to unveil the next-generation Mi Bands and Mi TVs as well as a new Mi Water Purifier today. Last year, it launched as many as seven new products in its smarter living category.

The Mi Band 4 is an affordable fitness tracking bracelet that was earlier launched in China at 169 Yuan. It is expected to come with a full-colour 0.95-inch OLED display, NFC and voice-aided controls.

Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain teased the launch of the device via Twitter last week. In the tweet he wrote: Come September 17th, we will unveil a product that you have been waiting ‘4’.

It is expected that the Mi Band 4 will sport a 0.95-inch AMOLED display panel that provides information about a user’s physical activity as well as notifications of text messages and voice calls directly from a connected phone. The display can also serve several other purposes, it can also display QR codes. It also boasts a microphone for voice assistance. This means users can interact with the smart band via touch as well as voice commands. The Mi Band 4 will also come with a six-axis accelerometer. It can even identify various swimming strokes and offer swolf scores, a user especially beneficial for swimmers.

Mi TV and Mi Water Purifier

Ahead of Mi TV’s refresh, the company said that it will be the biggest and best Mi TV offered in the Indian market yet. The company added the Mi TV sports a 4K LED panel with ‘all the content you have asked for’.

Xiaomi has also hinted at the arrival of a water purifier on multiple counts. A teaser on Twitter shows a glass being filled with water from a hidden device. ‘Every drop counts,’ the company said.
