Nasa informed that people can send their names to Mars aboard its Mars Rover 2020 mission.
Travelling to Mars by yourself is certainly an unimaginable task but you can send your names to the planet at the very least. Courtesy of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration or Nasa. On Twitter, Nasa informed that people can send their names to the Red planet aboard its Mars Rover 2020 mission.
Also, those who register their names will receive a ‘boarding pass’ – an image of which was shared on Twitter by Nasa. The Mars Rover 2020 mission will carry a microchip etched with the registered names.
“When our #Mars2020 rover lands on the Red Planet in 2021, it will carry a microchip etched with the names of millions of people from planet Earth. Is yours on it? There are 20 days left to get your boarding pass and fly your name on our rover,” a tweet from Nasa reads.
Sent in your names yet?
It appears that people are pretty much interested in sending their names to Mars as Nasa’s tweet has garnered over 7,000 likes and retweeted almost 2,000 times. Several users also shared their boarding passes in the comments section.
“The Mars 2020 rover mission addresses high-priority science goals for Mars exploration, including key questions about the potential for life on Mars,” Nasa said on its website.
The Mars Rover 2020 mission will take off in July 2020 and touch down on the red planet on February 18, 2021.
